The Northeast Food Knowledge Ecosystem (NEFKE) is a collaborative effort seeking to make food system related information more discoverable, usable and easier to share, in support of shared food system goals and emerging needs or opportunities across the Northeast US and beyond. Initiated by the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (NESAWG), this evolving knowledge ecosystem is intended to foster a “network of networks”, helping link and align the assets and efforts of a broad range of practitioners, researchers, educators and advocates.

NEFKE is not an organization or entity in itself, but a "federated" framework for networked collaboration. You can find introductory and contact information about that framework on this website. Most content here has been created to primarily document pilot project activities. Actual tools and resources demonstrating the value NEFKE offers to our region and food systems work are or will be offered on our growing list of member or partner websites, wherever you see the Powered by NEFKE logo.

More background information about NEFKE can be found on our About page.
